Make Remi yours
Tell Remi what you do, choose how it structures its answers and the personality it writes with, give it standing instructions, and pick the voice it speaks with.
These settings are yours alone. They follow you into every workspace and account you use, and nobody else on your team sees them or is affected by them.
On the web, they're in Settings · Personal, under Personalisation and Read-aloud voice. Open the menu at the bottom of the sidebar, where your email is, to get there. On the phone, they're in Settings, under Personalization and Voice.
Personalisation
A choice you select saves straight away, and anything you type saves when you click away from the box. To clear a box, delete what's in it and click away. Remi takes your choices as guidance: it follows them unless they get in the way of what you've asked for in a chat.
What do you do?
Type your job or your line of work, such as "Accountant" or "Marketing manager". Remi uses it to tailor its answers to the kind of work you do.
If you tell Remi what you do in a chat, it can update this for you. It asks you first.
Response style
Choose how Remi structures its answers.
| Style | What it means |
|---|---|
| Balanced | A natural mix of detail and brevity. This is where you start. |
| Concise | Short and direct, just the essentials. Remi still keeps the structure of a plan or a comparison. |
| Detailed | Thorough, with examples, the edge cases and the reasons why. |
| Academic | Formal and precise. Remi cites its sources and defines technical terms. |
Personality
Choose up to five traits for how Remi talks to you, or none.
| Trait | What changes |
|---|---|
| Friendly | A warmer, more conversational tone. Remi greets you by name. |
| Professional | A plain, structured business register. |
| Humorous | Remi can be funny, with the occasional joke where it fits. |
| Creative | Remi offers angles you might not have considered, and may disagree with you. |
| Direct | Remi answers first and explains after, without a preamble. |
Custom instructions
Write anything you want Remi to know or follow every time, such as how you like numbers laid out or the context of your business. Remi reads your custom instructions with every message you send. They can be up to 1,500 characters long.
Read-aloud voice
When Remi speaks
Remi speaks when you send it a voice note: it answers with a voice note of its own, and you can show the transcript underneath. Dictating into the message box doesn't get a spoken answer, because it turns what you say into text before you send it.
Choose a voice
Under Read-aloud voice, select a voice to use it. Featured voices come first, and each one says whether it's a male or female voice and what accent it has. To hear a voice before you choose, select its play button. The voices on offer depend on the language you use Remi in.
If you never choose one, Remi speaks with its first featured voice. To go back to it, select Reset to default under the voices, or select the voice you chose again.
On the phone, choose a voice under Settings › Voice › Preferred voice.
Play spoken answers straight away
Auto-play voice responses plays Remi's spoken answer as soon as it's ready. It's on to start with.
- On the web, it's under Read-aloud voice, and it applies to remiapp.ai in any browser you sign in on.
- On the phone, it's under Settings › Voice, and each phone has its own.
A different thing: your team's writing voice
The tone and style guide that Remi follows when it writes documents for your team is a separate setting, shared across a workspace. The settings on this page only change how Remi talks to you.
Connect your apps and MCP servers
Connect the apps you use so Remi can work with them, add an app by its MCP server address, and choose what Remi may do.
What Remi remembers
The facts Remi keeps about you and your business, how it learns them, how it uses them, and how to add, pin, change or delete them.
